Still on my course of digesting a ton of literature on meditation techniques and practices. One concept that seems universal is living or directing the mind to focus on the now, to eliminate a harmful retrieval of past negative experiences and emotions.
Whereas a lot of the techniques by practitioners are a bit strange and perhaps newer then new age they all drive this important concept. It is useless to dwell on the past. Free yourself and your mind to capture the present moment and figure out how to visualize your future and make it happen.
The mind, the soul are truly powerful and if allowed to focus on your potential instead of the dust bin of yesterday, you will accomplish great things.
Even if you do not get the point of meditation, you have to recognize that sitting quietly for an hour with no distraction focusing on your life ambitions and dreams will have a positive effect!
