The 365 Commitment

A Case for Consistency

When all is said and done, be consistent. When all the planning is complete and it is time for execution, just be consistent. When you have finally decided what the message is going to be, be consistent about it. Consistency is VALUABLE.

You grow by being consistent. You gain strength by being consistent. You are ready to excel only after you are consistent. If you are not consistent first you are weak, unpredictable and unstable.

Be consistent. When all else fails, just be consistent at something. If you are like me you have failed 1000 times or more at an exercise program. When all else fails, be consistent about something. Pick a good activity and just do it everyday with consistency and in a year from now you will be amazed by the results. Consistency beats exceptional effort in a long distance battle. I picked running. I just run everyday. Simple. Not complicated. Just get my butt out the door and run. Everyday. Without fail. I am now a decent runner. I am in better shape now then I have been in a long time.

Stop being perfect and just be consistent. Hate to break it to you. Just pick something and be consistent about it. If you want to improve any ANYTHING, then just find a thing that will improve your skills and consistently do them. You want to be a better writer? Then write something everyday. You want to be a better yoga practitioner? Then do yoga everyday. You want to be a better Python programmer, then write some code in Python everyday. You want to be more spiritual? Then do something spiritual everyday.

Consistency. 365 days of maintaining a very powerful habit and the biggest thing I learned, was to just simply be consistent.
