Purposeful Alignment

You can really make marvelous progress toward an ambition if multiple activities that you are engaged in are aligned toward the same objective. This thought came to me this morning as I was contemplating what was holding me back from being even more successful in my running progress. As I am contemplating preparing for some more races, I was thinking through how to improve in a limited amount of time I have during a given day. I do not have hours and hours each day to spend in preparation, rather I have to steal what time I can get to get a run in, or do some exercises.

When I am purposefully aligned, my every action starts to point in the direction of my ambition. I incorporate activities that lead to the path.

I had a item in my 365 commitment to accomplish a important business objective that would take a long conference call. If I was purposeful in my morning 365 commitment about aligning toward my objective then I could have done some strong deep breathing exercises while listening. I could have done some stretching exercises as well. This is just one example, but there are many. Throughout the day and with the various activities and tasks, I can be aligning toward my goals.

This is actually why the 365 commitment is so effective. You wake up everyday and focus on what is the most important to you. After a while this has an effect on you. You start to actually think about the important things all throughout the day. This causes you to start considering how you could alter your course of behavior to meet your new ambition. As you think, so you are.

So I am trying to figure out how to align my life to meet my next big race goal Side note – I cannot believe that I am one of those runner people now that all they can talk about is the race they are coming from or going to! I now understand why they never seem to mind that they are being annoying. The reason is that once you have gone through the agony of running everyday in every condition, then you are like – yeah – that is what I am going to talk about! I get that now.

Anyway, waking everyday and focus on the most important. You will start to find alignment in your life overtime.
