The 365 Commitment

Blog 215 – Positive yet Discerning

Do we bring uur own weather with us? If we are stressed out, is it the situation we are in, or is it us?

These are Questions I’ve bean thinking about lately. I’m Convinced   that   our perception,  how we see the world, Shapes  and influences the reality we experience. This is an old idea that Norman vincent Peale talked about in his Famous book, “The Power of Positive Thinking.”

Obviously positive thinking is beneficial, but the problem arises when enthusiasm and positivity crowd out sensitivity and discernment.  There is something about being in a good mood that can blind us and may cause us to miss cues around us.

So, I think that positive thinking must be married to an intention to pay attention, to keep our antenna up so to speak.

My goal today is to bring my own weather with me, a pleasant and beautiful reality, yet remain sensative to the people I encounter, to pick up on clues and respond appropriately.
