The 365 Commitment

Blog 87 – Take the 365 Pill, Plant the 365 Magic Beans

What if I told you that you could actually develop into the future self you want  to become; that you could manifest the future circumstance you wish to live in?  What if I told you, that all you had to do was incrementally develop supporting habits and routine, using a proven frame work of bite sized commitments, relying on a community of like-minded people for support, with available mentors, in alignment with the highest good you can imagine?

What if I told you that is real . . .  it is The 365 Commitment.

Start today by following this simple pragmatic process.  First thing each morning write down what is most important to you.  Prioritize that list.  Think about what habit or routine would support it, and commit to building that habit daily in small incremental steps.  Pray about it or meditate on it.  Do your best each given day, then check in with your list each night and pray and/or meditate before sleep.  Make a strong commitment to doing this for 365 consecutive days.  What will happen in your life if you do this?  That is a great question!  Join The 365 Commitment and find out.  See what will happen in your life.  See this process as a “get to” not a “have to.”

We know that the best way to make the world better is to focus on getting ourselves in order, because the answer lies within each of us, within you, driven by what you aim at.  Changes we make on/in ourselves ripple out into the world in ways that are far more effective and beneficial than pursuing the folly of changing or controlling others.   We know this is true, but how do we do it?   The 365 Commitment was created to provide a viable answer to this question.

I have been adding one pushup every three days to the exercise regimen I committed to.   Today I  get to do 90 pushups! This is not daunting to me in the least because I have made doing pushups into a routine, I’ve slowly added one every three days as  a habit that takes little thought or will power.  It’s just something I do now, a habit.  And the cool thing is, the physical improvement I see is beginning to look like the future self I imagined back on January 1st.   I am excited to see what will happen by the end of the year as I continue to keep my 365 Commitment.  This is just one example of many incremental changes that I am pursuing.

So, take the 365 pill, plant the 365 magic beans.  See this as an opportunity – a “get to” not a “have to,” and you will manifest the future you want.

Ben:
If getting stronger or adding muscle is your goal, you may want to add resistance to your daily push-up routine. perhaps a 5-10 lb weight on your back (sandbags are great for this). Also don’t forget the necessary importance of resting those muscles too!

Google “100 pushups a day for a year”, there are several interesting articles on this very topic — they caused me to re-evaluate and modify my daily exercise routine allowing for muscle groups to rest for a day or two. The only muscle group I work each day is my core.

Yup. I think it is more important to just do something consistently. Consistency is what produces results more than anything else. I think we should do whatever we can be consistent about. If we start adding something complex and it causes us to eventually fail to repeat – then it will not be beneficial!
