Construct Reality – 5 Days Left

You have the ability to construct a new reality. The key ingredients are time and a willingness to make and keep commitments designed to get you there. The first question is this – what reality would you like to have in the future? The second question is – what are you willing to commit to, to construct that reality for yourself?

Once you have answered those two questions – have a moment of honesty. Will that commitment truly achieve progress toward that reality? If the answer is yes, or at least partially – then just start doing it. Keep the commitment for a long period of time. The reality will start to construct before you and it will seem to be less impossible and you may need to adjust your commitment, increase the challenge but the point is that you are in control. The only thing that separates you is a commitment.

That is it right there. That is the big barrier. That is what prevents us from changing our reality. A willingness to do our part. I have discovered that when we are willing and actually do our part, the parts we cannot control just seem to fall into place. With enough time, patience, and perseverance we can change even the darkest of nights into bright mornings.

But you have to be willing to keep a commitment, and probably a hard one. One that you are able to do, but probably not something easy. Something you can do everyday, something that propels you forward. I have repeated this process now about 5 times over the last 500 or so days. Every time, same results. I create a vision of what I want my new reality to be. I create a commitment, I follow that commitment to the best of my ability and voila several hundred days later I find that reality closer and within my grasp.

The big one was that I wanted to look and feel healthy. I wanted to live longer, and I wanted to get into excellent physical health. I decided on a few commitments that I would do everyday to get me there. I have done those commitments everyday and now my health has dramatically improved. I have a lot of things to work on still, but my cardiovascular health is significantly better then it ever has been. I sleep better, I experience less anxiety, I do not get tired during the day as easy, I exercise without getting exhausted, I recover from exertion quickly. I can now fit into clothes intended for someone my height. Kind of nice, finding a bunch of clothes at stores that actually fit now.

This reality was absolutely constructed. It occurred overtime and by keeping a serious commitment for a long period of time. It required constant reaffirmation of my future vision and for me to set goals and milestones along the way to keep motivated. This is the reason for running racing events, like a marathon this weekend, to keep myself focused on keeping on with my commitments. Reality can be built, one block at a time, until you look around and you see that your life is completely different then it was 1 or 2 years ago. That is the price, a year or two of keeping a commitment and you will create whatever reality that you can imagine.
