Blog 144 – Making Meaning and The Big Kahuna

Wow. What an awesome weekend we just had!  Create a vision of the future and work to make it happen.  Talk about making meaning!  So many important milestones happened for friends and family this past weekend.  First marathon for my friend Guy!  4Hrs – Great Job!   Beautiful Graduations for my daughters.  Tears in my eyes.   Celebration with family at my home; and, a cherry on top of the cake . . .

I have a favorite beach, a unique place  – time seems to have left the place alone and it feels like California might have been in the 1950s.  Gidget and the Big Kahuna might come popping out of the surf at any moment.

I have wanted to share this place, this experience, with family from Tennessee for a long time. More than a year for sure. I envisioned the perfect spot, a fire on the beach, singing songs, eating food, playing Frisbee, throwing a football, watching the surfers get some good waves and an amazing sunset.  I envisioned it, prayed for it, and it all happened beautifully last night.  Thanks to God.

Experiences are where it’s at.  What experience to you want to have?  What memories do you want to make?  Answers to these questions are the raw materials for creating your vision for the future.  Once you have a vision, use the 365 Commitment to work incrementally toward it daily.  Pay attention to opportunities, recognize resources that present themselves, and discipline yourself to focus on making it happen, and align yourself with the highest good you can imagine.

Now it’s Monday.  My list is made, and I’m moving toward my goals, toward experiences that I want to have, one step at a time.  Feels good.  I hope you are moving in a similar direction.  I encourage you to make the 365 Commitment as a means to the ends you seek.
