The 365 Commitment

Right Brings Wrong

Seems like a law written in the universal heavens that when you are trying to do something that is right, the wrong is attracted as well. It is like resistance. When you are struggling to pull in one direction, an equal force is pulling against you. It seems, that there is opposition in everything and is a fact of life. If this is a law, then it also must mean that the more right something is for you, the more resistance that you will experience. Was one of Newton’s laws of physics? A force exerted will experience an equal force in return.

So if this is actually true, which I believe that it is, when you are doing something really good for yourself or for others then you will get a ton of resistance. If you are doing something that will produce great gain for yourself, then you should expect all the opposition forces to conspire against you. This is just a fact of life improvement, it is the normal course and should be fully expected. When you experience opposition, you should not throw up your hands in frustration, but rather exclaim – there it is! I knew that I would experience opposition and here it is. Do not get discouraged, it is a sign that you are doing something right.

If you do not want to face opposition, then do not do anything to improve. Simply, take the path of no resistance, no growth, no improvement and you will experience far lest resistance. You will find that life will accept with open arms your desire to be complacent. The path down to the mires of personal lethargy is an easy and smooth ride. Consequently, the path up the mountain of self realization is an intense struggle.

So when you are trying to improve and you face struggle, do not despair. The worse the forces move against you, the more likely what you are doing is a really good move on your part. Instead of freaking out about how bad the opposition is getting, consider how awesome it is that your efforts are being recognized! The greater the struggle the greater the improvement that you will experience.

If you want to be a better person, contribute more to society, to actually help improve things then the struggle is very real. As you get closer to your goal, the greater the antagonism and even persecution will be. Accept this. I think that too many people thing that opposition to their goals is some sort of sign that it was not meant to be. Rubbish. When you experience a negative reaction, you are most likely doing something right!

I always think when someone opposes me that there are two things going on. Either I am doing something bad and they are opposing me because they should OR I am doing something right and resistance is a natural reaction. Every once and awhile I find that the previous is true, and I need to adjust my behavior for good reason but most of the time I discover that opposition is just a sign that I am on the right path!
