The Raven flies across white snow
A morning contrast monochrome
Silence broke by this noisy crow
Purple waves of grain and not rome

I am told she is burning now
Rolling hills, majestic sky, home
Distant cries, a faint rumble, low
She is sleeping I wonder how

Flower breaks through the icy ground
Trampled under my ignorance
Distracted by that cawing sound
Feel like I should take a stance

Raise my fist, just stand around
Concrete jungle, the modern dance
Blackbird distracted, What it found?
I wander and take a quick glance

Sun out now the spring in full thaw
Once buried and now is revealed
A shining antler exposed, raw
Attached to a skull now peeled

Those vacant eyes haunting, I saw
Glimmer of hope our country healed
Jumped back my cry a muffled ahh
She is dying! The raven squealed.
