I have been reading behavioral psychology research in between calls lately. I totally should have been in this field growing up. Not sure why it fascinates me, but it just does. Anyway, I am coming to the conclusion based on historical evidence, personal experience, and scientific research that Faith in God is good. Meaning, faith in God produces benefits for us as humans.

It seems that faith in a divine presence is so ingrained in our mental development as a species that there is just no way out of this. Even when someone professes atheism, they still find a way to replace God with some sort of divine providence. So maybe we should just accept it? I mean why fight it? If belief in God is a good idea, and we are going to believe anyway, then why fight it? Maybe we should as a people and as a society just embrace God? What do we have to lose?

Well, we are not going to have that happen, because then there will be a whole debate on who knows God the best and all that. Rome, Tibet, Salt Lake, the arguments will go on forever. So we are not going to convince society that God exists, but we could convince ourselves.

Go with me on this for a minute. There is nothing about faith in God that says you have to know for absolute certain that there is actually a God that controls the universe. I would think that faith is actually taking action on the concept that there is a God, even in the presence of doubt! So you can only really have faith when you do not actually believe. If God came and visited you right now and removed all doubt, then you would no longer have the need of faith. You would lose the power and probably the benefit from faith.

So if Faith in God, does not require you to actually fully 100% believe, yet faith in God produces a bunch of benefit for you, then why not just have faith!? Seems like we have been fooled by hollywood, bogus religions, and false notions of what faith really means. Just saying, in today’s world we can use all the help we can get. Try faith in God for a while and see what happens!

Guy – I just found out you had this blog and think it’s fantastic! Everyone is a person of faith – it’s just that faith in God is the only thing that can actually fulfill the “hole” in each of us. Keep up the great work!
