The funny thing about risk, is that by the time you convince yourself to take it, it is the only obvious path. Perhaps we would save ourselves a lot of grief by just getting more comfortable with risk and taking them more frequently. You will end up doing them anyway, so perhaps you should get good at selecting the right risk instead of avoiding risk. By the time we get to old age we become adept at avoiding risk. Rather we need to become nimble at accepting risk quickly and choosing wisely.
