Day 32 of 84 – Gadson

I have many things to write about. I am spending a few days at West Point attending a leadership seminar. Enjoying running through the dense wooded hills of revolutionary war country. The leadership training has been awesome, and I have definitely had to stay on track with what I am calling my “84 day sprint.” I am writing this blog on the speech we listened to last night from Retired Colonel Greg Gadson.

Here is an interview with him on a news channel if you want to hear his story.

He is a survivor from a road side bomb while serving overseas. The story of his survival is amazing, the story of how his team saved him and those individuals is equally amazing. I cannot do it justice on this blog, I have something else planned on that. Anyway, he survived, he lost both legs and some use of his fingers. He is now on the public speaking tour doing fund raising events. He is also doing cycling events, where he raises money for charity. He is a humble man, with a passion for life that is absolutely infectious.

His message was simple. He told his story and then he asked us to treat each day as if it was our last. Live each day to the best of your ability. Live in the moment, because the moment maybe all that you have.

Amen Brother. I have nothing to add to that. Hoooah!
