It’s Saturday morning, day six of a rough bout with the flu for me. Each day my gas tank has been small, but I’ve managed to apply the small amount of energy available to things most important. My hopes of a quick rebound to health were dashed as each day. Driven back to bed with high fever 103-104, I was forced to rest, each day the same.
This experience has been a purview into the lives of the infirm. It has been humbling.
Doing my best with a limited resource has been part of the lesson of life this week. Along with focusing on the moment and the quality/care in doing each task, has been a greater understanding that the outcome of my effort is not in my control, but is up to God. Compassion for those who are suffering has also been stirred in me.
