Day 229 – Fall Back

Replacing bad habits with good habits has one very distinct advantage. Today I received a series of setbacks. One after another the reception of bad news came rolling in.

Normally, I would have fell back to bad habits. Perhaps watching too much streaming tv, sleeping in, playing a mindless game on my phone, reading nothingness on the Internet, and most of all eating something unhealthy.

However, due to my recently developed good habits, I fell back to running a little longer then I normally would have. I did eat something a little bad, but because I was tracking what I ate, I stopped and did not eat anything more. I read something encouraging and then did a bunch of pushups.

My good habits have become my fall back. This is probably the main reason why taking the effort and energy to suck it up and develop a good habit over 90 days pays dividends.
