I have decided to dive in and add a bunch of features to my 365 Commitment. On Friday, the 28th I will be at Day 265. This will mark 100 days left where I have been following the 365 Commitment for 365 days in a row. I am going to take my commitment up a notch and challenge myself even further and I have set that to start on the 28th of September.
I am planning to improve this blog site so that people can participate and comment better, and add a podcast feature that I will record a discussion around habit forming and keeping this commitment and the final stages of my effort. I plan to release the podcast every 10 days, until I have completed the commitment. I have yet to exactly decide what to do when I get to 365. Not sure if I start over, or if I go to 366! I will be thinking about that a lot.
I set out to make a major positive change in my life. That has happened. I set out to once and for all do something in my life consistently. That has happened. I hoped that if I followed the commitment everday for 365, then at the end I would have a clear vision of my future self. I actually had that happen just a few days ago. That will be the topic of Podcast #1.
During this 100 days, I want to get more official with the podcast, but I am also going to challenge myself to write a book. It will probably be a book I publish for free on my website, but I want to actually write a book and be proud of it. During this 100 days, with 10 day sprints (ending each sprint with a podcast), I am going to write a chapter of the book. When I am done, I will have 10 chapters of a book that I can publish on my site.
I also plan to start building a workshop. I am thinking of offering a free workshop after day 365, that I will hold. I have no idea how I would do that, but it will be part of my 100 day challenge. Once I write a book, I can then have a little workshop I do to encourage and help a select few people also make the commitment and dramatically change their lives. I will document their progress and spend my time focusing on helping their progress instead of my own.
I am also contemplating running a personal marathon. I did 1/2 of a marathon already, I am thinking I will map out a 26 mile course and prepare for the final day and be ready to go. Roughly 5 hours on a Saturday morning, with my kids feeding me electrolyte enriched food and beverages I think I can get myself to the point of being able to get there. Crazy to run my own personal marathon, but I really do not have interest in a competition – just an accomplishment is all that I need.
So I am in the preparation stages of day 265.
