If you struggle with doing something, keeping a habit, or persevering even in tough times then you should always remember that small is ok. Nothing is horrible, but small is good enough to check the box and move on to the next day knowing that you at least tried and you did something to progress. If you find yourself having a hard time doing what you set out to do, then make the task a much smaller increment. You cannot do an hour in the gym? Then do 15 minutes. At least you are doing it and in the realm of building life changing habits, something is always better than nothing.
