Day 348 – The Cold

So I travelled to Chicago for a few days and it also has been cold out here in So Cal. Not Chicago cold, but cold enough. I have noticed an internal reluctance to avoid the cold and linger longer inside. This has caused a delay in my agenda, creating a time crunch for me. The pressure to complete my 365 list has caused me to reflect on the root cause.

Yeah, root cause is that I am a wimp. Mentally that is. When I was in Chicago, I knew that I was just going to have to deal with it. So in very cold temperatures, I ran and jumped over little snow plow hills of ice. It was not that bad, in fact the challenge was exhilarating and in fact eye opening.

So now back in Southern California, I am letting 40 to 50 degree mornings cause me pause. I am letting my little wimpy mind get in my way.

Time to show that part of me who is in charge. I am going to hit the trail tomorrow morning despite the cold and just embrace the cold and feel my senses come alive.

Ha! Time to embrace the cold! Ride at Dawn!
