Day 219 – Small Improvements

This week I have started to make small improvements to my habits. This is a first for me. I have never even had a good habit to even think about improving. Now I actually have a few good habits and I am seriously thinking about improving them. Here is what I am working on:

Every morning I run, usually a minimum of 2 miles. However, I have noticed that sometimes I will just jog along and barely make it and just drag myself through the process. Better then not doing anything, but could certainly be better. So I set a key result that I would be able to run 10 miles on a specific date in September. To get there I have decided that I need to get the average time per mile down. Today I was able to get it to 10 minutes per mile. This small improvement has made my run far more effective.

This is just an example, I am trying to make improvements to how I approach my pushup, situp, squat routine, how I consider, measure and record my intake of food everyday and the other habits I have developed. Since starting the 365 Commitment 219 days ago, I have deliberately created the following habits:

  • Record My Most Important Tasks Each Morning in my 365 Journal – (219 Days)
  • Pray every morning and every night regarding my 365 List – (219 Days)
  • Write a Blog Article Everyday (219 Days)
  • Wake up Every Morning at 5am (169 Days)
  • Run at least 2 Miles Every Morning (169 Days)
  • Perform +1 Pushup, Situp, and Squat (169 Currently)
  • Consider, Measure, and Record everything I eat (86 Days)
  • Do a Meditation Session Every Day (36 Days)
  • Read Something Spiritually Significant (36 Days)
  • Pay Attention to a Financial Matter and Resolve at least 1 thing (36 Days)

219 Days ago this list would have been overwhelming to me, funny how big a difference a few months can make. I think I have just about maximized the list, and there maybe a few things I add, for the most part I think I have arrived at a good list – and that is why I am now looking to make small improvements to how I perform each one.
