Day 329 – Invest Instead

Instead of dwelling on the past, we should invest in the future. This investment occurs through mental energy. I think we can decide what our minds focus on. We can choose to dwell, which is an activity that looks backward or to invest which is a mental activity that looks to making the future a reality.

Dwelling seems like a worthless activity, whereas investment can be meaningful.

So how do we invest rather then dwell. I have noticed that you can only invest when you perform the mental activity on purpose. Dwelling seems to occur when you are not in control, but rather just reacting.

Taking time to focus and spending deliberate time toward thinking through and considering the future is a real investment.

If you do not make that investment you run the risk of not making your future a reality.
