Day 79 – Just Knock, The Door Will Open

Knock and the door will open. Start looking for something and you will find it.  As they say, be careful what you pray for.  I think this phrase rings true because opportunities and people and situations will appear when you are clear on what you want.

Here are few of the things I am looking for. I want to grow myself up.  I want to overcome the parts of my personality that do not serve me well.  I want to increase my courage in the face of darkness and reduce suffering, mine and other people’s.  I want to find meaning and create meaning in life.  I want to develop myself in ways that honor the gifts I have been given. I want to properly provide for my family.  I would say these goals offer tremendous rewards and the doors that open before me that lead to them are daunting and will test me.  Failure in any one of these areas of my life would be tragic in some sense, so there is much at stake.  I am terrified and feel inadequate in the face of this.  But, facing fear is one of my goals – doh!

The truth is , in seeking these things I am presented with ample and almost overwhelming opportunity. The 365 Commitment is one example.  Do I take this opportunity?  Do I practice the habits that I have committed to each day – for 365 days in a row?  Do I engage in battle with dark forces and struggle uphill towards the light?   Will I seize the opportunities in front of me?   Yes I will!  One incremental step at a time.

The 365 Commitment door is open.  To walk though it simply ask yourself, what do I really want?  Ask yourself, what am I doing that if I stopped doing would make a big difference in my life?  You will get a quick answer – I promise.  Ask yourself, what habit, if I had it, would yield the results I want?  Commit to it and practice each day.  What will your life be like 365 days from now?  Good question.  If you are reading this, a viable door has opened before you.  I encourage you to walk through it.
