Day 38 of 84 – My fate is sealed

For those of you who read yesterday’s blog – you will know that I was following Lee Whitaker’s attempt at the Badwater 135 race. Well he finished early this morning. He completed the race in 28 hours and 13 Minutes. The 5th place finisher. People are still coming in this morning, the latest clocking in at 34 hours. Lee had set this as a goal a long time ago, and I am very proud and excited that he accomplished his ambition. He has worked incredibly hard, and it is awesome to see his goal realized. 5th place at Badwater – wow!

So based on this amazing feat, my fate is now sealed. I have been contemplating my next big thing. I had set a goal to get my racing speed to Boston Qualification level. I am still pursuing that, however, I need something bigger. So yes, I am going to get myself scheduled for a 100 mile ultramarathon. I am going all in.

I am also definitely going this 100 mile run on a trail. This was my view this morning and I believe that the reason I want to focus on trail running is self explanatory.

Justification for Trail Running

So here goes my next big audacious pursuit. I will find a race to target soon enough, when I do I will let you know. I encourage everyone to come up with something big to pursue, does not have to be running. Aim high!
