“When you make a choice and say, ‘Come hell or high water, I am going to be this,’ then you should not be surprised when you are that. It should not be something that is intoxicating or out of character because you have seen this moment for so long that … when that moment comes, of course it is here because it has been here the whole time, because it has been [in your mind] the whole time.” – Kobe Bryant

The above quote is amazing. When you choose, really make the choice to become something you are that in every way except for actually achieving it. You create a vision for your future when you accomplish it and just like Kobe says, when that moment comes you will already know it. It will not be that big of a deal for you, because you will have already accomplished it in your mind for a long time.

Can you really make that type of choice? This is not just a casual, I would really like to be this or that. It would be great to accomplish something sure, but are you willing to make the decision. That decision means, that it does not matter what gets in your way, it does not matter what setback you receive, you are going to achieve your goal regardless. In fact you have made the decision so definitely that you become the person that would be the person that could accomplish that amazing feat.

You get the result that you want to get because you quite literally become the person that would naturally get that result. You think, act, behave like that person because you are that person, you have made the decision. I used to coach people taking classes from me in college that they art of gaining the job you want is not an application for the job. The art is to first become the person that would naturally have that type of job. Gaining a job when you are the right person for the job is usually pretty easy, the hard part is becoming the person that is employable. That is always were I would point the efforts of upcoming students. IF you want to get paid like a professional, then become a professional!
