Excellence is Habit

Excellence is not any individual accomplishment, it is what you repeatedly do everyday. We watch a woman win a gymnastics gold medal and we say wow, what an excellent accomplishment. However, the winning of the gold metal was not what made her excellent. It is what she did everyday, every morning and every afternoon. It is what she chose not to do everyday that got her there.

The biggest joke is when we say, wow she is so talented. What natural born gifts she must have! Totally ignorant of the sheer number of hours the girl spent day in and day out repeating her training. She became talented by habit.

Think on this. You are exacly what you habitually do. That is the sum of your ability, capability and will ultimately determine your success. Want to be excellent? Form good habits, lots of them
