Well I have a birthday looming. I also have a personal goal that I set to achieve a 100 miler before I turn a half century old. So I effectively have 1 year to accomplish my goal. Time to get serious. Time to get myself signed up and on board to compete in a 100 mile long trail race. Should not be too hard, I have gotten real close to running that distance in practice runs, so I know that I can do it. So time to gut check and really start to pour in the time and energy to make it happen. The first step to achieving a wild and audacious goal of this nature is to write it down, make the commitment and tell yourself that you will not, under no circumstances fail. The next step is to figure out the path I am going to take to make the audacious goal happen. So I am going to schedule the race, and then work my way backward on what it is going to take to get there. I know many ultra marathon runners, so I feel like I have lots of support and advice on what I need to do to be successful. So today is the day that I have affirmed that this next year I will achieve my goal of completing a 100 miler in an official sanctioned race. I was delayed in this ambition by COVID, but now that restrictions are easing up I can finally get one on the schedule. Guy
