Paulo Coelho wrote in the Alchemist that the one thing that prevents us from achieving our dreams is the fear of failure. If you contemplate this for a moment, that is really an amazing nugget of truth. It really is the fear of failure that paralyzes us, freezes our ambition, causes anxiety and prevents our progress. The fear of failure will keep us at bay for a few months, then a few years, and then a lifetime. Overcoming the fear of failure is probably one the most difficult things to do as a human which is probably why so few of us achieve our dreams.
