You can pour all the effort you want into saving a plant. You can add more water. You can add more nutrients. You can add more soil. You can add more sunlight. You can add more bug spray. You can trim and clean up the branches.
However, if the soil does not drain – forget it. The plant is going to wither away, start to turn yellow, and die.
The lesson is that all living things need to drain. They need time to remove the bad as they bring in the good. If you do not give yourself time to drain, you will end up just like the dead yellowing plant in the backyard.
