Just thinking about common issues that plague our mental states. One of them is the comparison game. Similar to the ancient sin of envy. We find ourselves comparing our progress to other people all the time. It is a logical thing to do, but illogical to dwell on. Why do we compare ourselves to others all the time?

I have no idea. Here is the thing, we all do it. It is just part of being human, we have a deep process internal to our core genetic disposition to compare. I suppose the healthy reaction to comparison is to be super motivated. The unhealthy reaction is to take a hit to self esteem.

I think the best advice I have seen or read on this topic is to actively train your mind to step away from comparison and focus on improving your attitude about self instead. Remove things in your life that trigger comparison and instead focus on activities and reminders to encourage positivity.
