Day 137 – Searching for the Path

Yesterday, I spent some time skiing with my daughter, which explains the raccoon face I’m sporting now—I forgot to wear sunblock. One aspect of skiing that often goes unnoticed is the moments of silent contemplation experienced while sitting on the ski lift ascending the mountain. It’s a time of peace, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, with the cold wind brushing against your face.

During one of these quiet moments, we found ourselves drifting above a pair of skiers attempting a challenging mogul run below. We were close enough to overhear their conversation, a rare glimpse into the thoughts of fellow adventurers.

The skier clad in a bright green Helly Hansen jacket called out, “Bro, what are you waiting for?”

To which the skier in a blue and black North Face jacket responded, “I’m searching for a good path, and I cannot see one.”

This exchange resonated with me for the rest of the day and on the drive home. The idea of searching for the path struck a chord. Isn’t that, in essence, what life is all about?

As we navigate the mogul runs of life, each with its own set of challenges and decisions, the journey to find our path is constant. It’s a quest filled with moments of uncertainty, contemplation, and, ultimately, discovery.

I hope we can all find our paths, as varied and winding as they may be, on the many mogul runs life presents us with.
