A question that seems to come up for people following the 365 commitment is – What do I put in my list every day? I think this is a great question – but I also think it is important to not get stressed about it. What matters the most is that you put down what is top of mind to you and revise that list and you receive inspiration through prayer and/or meditation. Trust that this will work, and surprisingly it does!
However, here is the simply steps I followed when I built my list this morning:
1. Wrote down anything that was bugging me, that I knew that I had to resolve
2. Quickly scan my previous lists – was there anything that I left undone that is still important? Was there anything that I did, but only partially and I need to follow up on further?
3. I review my calendar. I look at past events and future events. I ask myself is there anything that I need to follow up on, or is there anything that I need to prepare for?
4. I review my email or other communications. I quickly scan! I do not get bogged down in responding. I might quickly respond to something if I can quickly remove it, but I am mainly looking for something important to deal with.
5. I ask myself – what is the most important thing I could get done today with my time? What is the ONE thing that I should do today, that would help me accomplish my dreams?
6. When I pray about my list – I listen. I am listening for the answer to the most important question. Is there anyone that I can help serve today? If I feel prompted – I write it down!
That is the process that I have come up with, I do not think it is set in stone and it does not matter if I follow each step each day or even in order. The most important thing is to decide on your list before the day starts and in council with God, or whatever higher power you believe in.
Make this list each day! Act on what you put down! Your life will change for the better – I guarantee it.
