Blog 113 – The Small is Big

When starting the 365 Commitment, you will have a goal or goals in mind.  Trust me, you are gonna need them to fight against dark forces that will try to undermine you.  Your goal, your vision of the future, is very important to keep in mind each day.  It is important.  It has meaning.  It matters!  That is the point.

The small steps we take each day, the onerous or tedious tasks we face, are easily assailable by negative thoughts, distractions, or plain laziness.  We can talk ourselves out of doing them by convincing ourselves that they don’t matter.

Yesterday, Guy talked about finding fire to fuel our effort in his inspiring blog. That fire can be found in the vision  you created when you started the 365; remember it, visualize it, focus on it.   It is meaningful and it is important.  Transfer that meaning onto whatever small task you have in front of you and knock it out.

That next small step, chore, task, is as important as your end goal.  Your end goal depends upon it!  Each morning, when you make your list for the day, take time to remember and visualize what matters most to you.  Let that meaning build within your mind and spirit and provide the fuel for taking each step.  That form that needs filling out?  It matters!  Those pushups you need to do?  They matter!

Apply the full meaning of your goal and vision toward each little task.  Realize that each small step is as important as your end goal.  The small is big.  Use every motivation at your disposal to push past the resistance.  It really is just a mind game and you know how to play it, realize the full meaning of your goals and aspirations depend upon blasting through that next step.  Now, get out there and crush that little task!
