At the end of the day

When you are at the end of the day, it is time to take stock. Where are you really at, I mean really. After all the fighting, back and forth, negotiations, squabbling and everything else you have to really sit back and think, what do I really have at the end of today?

Although I had a relatively easy day, I had a lot of background stuff going on. Really stressful things that were killing me emotionally. At one point I was just ready to just throw in the towel on it all, but then it suddenly hit me.

Here I am, sitting outside in a nice backyard, calm warm breeze blowing through my hair. Nice environment, safe, clean. Dinner is on the stove, and a beautiful woman who I am lucky to call my wife is cooking. My three kids are inside hanging out and talking, laughing, joking with their cousin who came to visit today. Everyone is happy, safe, and has their whole lives to look forward to. Here I am working my tail off, but you know what, I would do 10,000 more days like this if I could keep those smiles on their faces.

I am healthy, slightly overweight, but healthy. I have money in the bank, not as much as I want, but good enough. I have a happy family, not as happy as we could be, but hey were smiling today. At the end of the day, I have a good place to live, a warm bed to sleep in, a family who loves me (I think), and no real concerns about how and where I am going to earn a living this year. That is pretty good right? So what the bleep am I worried about?
