The 365 Commitment

Full Moon in October

“Look at me, I’m in tatters. I been shattered.” – Mick Jagger

Woke up this morning with this Rolling Stones song in my mind. I am in tatters. Full Moon. October Again. The Season of Shattered.

Fifty years and you think I would be comfortable with the cycle. Summer turns to fall, then to winter. Death and decay. Then rebirth.

The climate changes, it gets colder, the sun is not out this morning. Only the moon. In the quiet stillness, clouds shrouding the faint glow through the trees, leafless branches.

It’s cold again. Life is still again. My mind is falling apart again. The season. The cycle. Not all can be up. Not all can be great. Sometimes you need to go dormant for a while. So here I am. In the downward slump.

Look at me, I’m in tatters. Ain’t you hungry for success, success, success. Does it matter?
