You probably have said at least once this week. One day I am going to get myself in shape. One day I am going to lose weight. One day I am going to get myself on a budget. One day I am going to clean my garage. One day I am going to spend time with my children. One day. You get it, we all say it.
The One Day will never happen, because all of these things do not happen in a day. These things happen over a long period of time of repetitive effort. Instead of One Day, you should be saying: “I am going to start doing something small and incremental to help me progress so that I can be ….” You do not say this, because when you say the mythical one day – you are lying.
Yup, lying to yourself and to others. What you actually mean is – that I am just too lazy right now to do what I know that I should be doing. That does not sound good. It sounds like, exactly what it is, that we have personal responsibility for our daily actions. One day will never come. One day is actually impossible. You will never accomplish anything great one day.
The truth? You can start right now making progress everyday and then there will be a time, many many months later when you will look back and think – wow I have made some progress. One Day has finally arrived!
