Day 145 – Symbolic Action

Sometimes a symbolic action is necessary to build my confidence. Like this morning at 5am with only about an hour of sleep, I got up at 5am and kept my commitment. It was a symbolic action – I did the minimum and then went back to sleep for an hour. However, I claim victory. Despite the desire to push my commitments off – I did not shrink. I did my best when faced with adversity and I am chalking it up as a win.

I think there is value in perseverance despite the worst of what life has to offer. Admittedly this morning was a lack luster effort, however, I am going to make up for it today in getting some important things done. I carefully listened and contemplated this morning and got some valuable inspiration that I am going to act on.

So today is a bit of ceremony – but tomorrow – I am going to rise at dawn and take each day on with new intensity.
