Blog 241 – Day One, A Worthy Goal

A worthy goal, one that fits you, does not go away. Your desire to pursue it may fade or dip, but is never extinguished. At least this is what I have noticed about myself. Early in the year I chose to focus on weight lifting (primarily body weight augmented with free weights & machines) and sprinting (hill sprints) as my primary exercise modalities.

I know that theses disciplines will lead to the physique that I seek. Both make sense for me because I want to know . . . what sort of form my body would take if I pursue to a daily regimen of around weight lifting and sprinting for 365 days in a row? What would happen, mentally and physically?!

I began pursuing this quest at the beginning of the year. Unfortunately, over the summer, serious illness set be back; took me out for about two months. But, my stamina is finally returning. Recently, I asked myself, what it is I really want and the same answers I had early this year came back. I still want to know what would 365 days focus on weight lifting and sprinting routine yield? A worthy goal does not go away.

So, I will have to begin again to get an answer to my question. Starting at day 1. This is fine with me, I plan on living another 365 days. So, why not begin again today? Of course, I am a bit bummed-out about the lost momentum and gains. However, life is like looking through a windshield. The rear-view mirror is important, but is is small in proportion to the forward-viewing space. Use them in proportion. Spend most of your time looking forward, and a small, but important time looking backward.

So, today is day one. Here I go again!
