Time is, as we learn getting older, relentless. It continues on whether you like it or not. Another second, another minute, another hour is just going to happen. It will keep happening long after you are done on this earth. So the time you have is very finite. In essence, time is your most precious commodity. I think that is somewhat apparent. As I sit here I have various tools right in front of me that display time in a variety of formats. A watch, a computer clock, a calendar or two. I have alarm clocks, reminders, and a lifetime of indoctrination regarding tracking, keeping time and naming days of the week.

The earth revolves around its axis and we call that a day. The earth revolves around the sun and we call that a year. I have been taught to call today Monday, and it is currently in the Gregorian year 2020. In reality none of this means anything at all to you personally. The earth could revolve around its axis many more times and when the roulette wheel stops it will not matter which named day it lands on. Your goals, your dreams, your ambitions will still be left undone.

Everyday, every hour, every moment you should be focusing on what you really want to accomplish in life. We, far to often, let others monopolize our time, steal our time, borrow our time. People are constantly asking you to delay doing what is important to you, so that you can work on what is important to them. This maybe a good idea, or more often times than not, a bad idea. We all have to trade our time like currency. However, here is the point of this blog.

Your time is your most precious currency. We too often look at our bank account balance, or what is parked in our garage as key indicators. However, our most valuable investment is our time. You should not apologize for making sure that your time is being compensated well. You should clearly want to make sure that if you spend time on something that you are getting a very high return. Unfortunately, we just do not have that mindset. We blow our time worse than we blow our money. We waste time in the most unproductive activities. Time is absolutely precious, we should treat it that way.
