If you are waiting to “feel better” in order to make life improvements, you are in trouble. Feelings are lame. You do not need to “feel” good about what you are doing. You just need to do it, regardless of your little feelings. You see we can have feelings over a variety of reasons, and from a variety of sources. You might have some part of your body signaling to your brain and you interpret that as not “feeling well” which causes you to not do what you need to. Here is a critical point. A point that I have to face every morning when I wake up.

IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW I FEEL, JUST GET OUT OF BED AND DO IT ANYWAY.

If I let my feelings run the show, then I would only rarely do anything to improve myself. I keep a journal everyday, looking back over the last 30 days, I think there was 5 days where I “felt awesome.” So basically, if I waited until I felt awesome then I would only get out the door for 5 days in the month. A better solution for me is that I just get out the door REGARDLESS of how I “feel.” I am now personifying my feelings. I put that little creature in a closet and tell him to shut up and quit whining. Meanwhile, I will go and get done what needs to happen.

Basically, what I am saying is that we just cannot let our feelings control what we do. If we do that, we will not achieve goals, not get consistent results, and spend more time feeling grumpy and moody and less time achieving the greatness that you are fully capable of.
