What is Perfection?

What exactly is perfection?

Is perfect not making errors, being free from sin or mistakes and all that? Is it being clean as the white driven snow, a brand new baby with no malevolence in their heart? Is it being God, or god-like?

Nah. I think perfection is two things.

First – perfection is progress. The more you progress the more perfect you are. Perhaps, and I am going out on a limb here, that is what “God” is, the being, entity, or the concept of always progressing, always improving? Think about it, how can you just be perfect. Perfect implies completeness, or a finished state. Is the the infinite space, or infinite realm of thought even capable of ever being complete? So perhaps, being perfect, is more about being able to progress at all times. Constant improvement, is more related to being perfect than never making a mistake at all.

Second – perfection is capacity. What if being better, or improved, or on a high level only simply has to do with your capacity as a person? When I was younger it was easier to be good at something that I did, but my capacity was really low. Meaning, I could not do a significant amount very well. As I got older, my capacity as a person significantly increased but my performance seemingly took a hit. Reality is I was getting better at everything, I was just increasing my capacity to do more. So that got me to thinking, what if perfection has nothing to do with how good you are, what if perfection has to do with how much capacity you have? If there is a God, then perhaps that entity is God simply because of tremendous capacity? That would certainly explain why everything is amazing in nature, but you have a few mess ups now and then!

If this is all true or not, I do not know. However, I can say this. Perfection as progression and capacity is a lot easier for me to think about then perfection as error free. I make a ton of errors, but perhaps as I increase my ability to recover rapidly and improve and I increase my capacity to make more errors, I will achieve a state of perfect human evolution.
