I am not sure why, but running in mining towns is cool. Perhaps it is just the oddity of someone running in neon colored shoes with a headlamp juxtaposed against the legacy of men carrying mining equipment up the same hill 100 or more years ago. Jogging through exotic looking LL Bean and other outfitter type stores selling goods that cost more then the entire mining claim was worth is somewhat funny.
The altitude, the hills, the clean air, the wide open streets and the beautiful views make the Mining Town run one of the best things about running. I highly recommend early am before anyone is up. Anyway, if you have not had the experience, I highly recommend.
