Jimi Hendrix asked this question to his fans many years ago. If you can just get your mind together. Maybe this was a drug reference, maybe it wasn’t. Who knows. The music is actually amazing. Try to play rhythm, bass, and lead all at the same time and do it backwards and look cool doing it while high on who knows what. Pure raw talent, lost to us early. Drugs suck. However, are you experienced?
What does this mean anyway? What does it mean to be experienced? I had a revelation today on this concept. Thinking about the fact that I got a lecture from someone that has no where near the experience that I do, I was sort of pissed off thinking about that this morning. As I ran and deliberated, I wondered what actually is valuable about experience? Then it hit me.
Experience is really this. When you set a goal, or try to achieve something and then you are unable to do so, or you fail to get there. That is experience. You experienced failure, but more importantly you went through the process of trying to achieve something and not quite getting there. The more you go through that, the wiser you get. The more you understand what will work and what will not. That is VALUABLE experience, and that is the difference. Be wary when you talk to someone that has failed more times than you have won. They know infinitely more than you do by their experience. Best to listen carefully, there is strength in this wisdom.
