When you engage in a conversation with someone that you have a relationship with, try putting on the positive lens. There is a tremendous amount of stress and anxiety associated with our interactions with people close to us. Here is the thing. We have complete control over our own reactions to people. We frequently say that people impact us, but that is not their problem it is ours.
You can immediately change this dynamic by focusing initially on something positive about that person. Perhaps something that they did that helped you. Keep that thought in your mind as you start your next dialog.
Simply amazing how this simple act of putting on the positive lens will change your view and put you more in control of your emotions.
