I hear this phrase, “out of an abundance of caution.” This is usually to excuse a regulatory policy or compliance request or some other items of bureaucratic nature. What if I do not want an abundance of caution? What if I want an abundance of free time? Or an abundance of fun? What if I do not want an abundance of caution and the work that it requires? Perhaps I want only enough caution, not an abundance. I want to take just enough risk to enjoy my life but not spend every day filling out paper work?
