The 365 Commitment

Day 120 – Actually Commit

It is easy to forget the commitment part of the 365 commitment. I am 120 days into waking up every morning and making a list and then praying about it. During this process, it has become easy to just go through the motions – write down what I have to do today – and then just go about my day. What is easy to forget, and today I am reminding myself, that each morning I need to make a COMMITMENT to complete the list.

A commitment has weight, or at least should. When I consider the list, I need to determine if I am willing to commit the time to accomplish this list today. I also need to be happy with the list. Meaning – when I am done with the day and I look back at the list – will I believe that I have accomplished something meaningful today? Will today be a day worth remembering?

So are you actually committing to your list each morning? Are you actually communicating to whatever source you consider a higher power then yourself and promising to accomplish the list you came up with? Is your list ambitious enough to really help you feel like you took one step forward toward accomplishing your goals?

This morning I decided to up the game a little on the list creation. Really think about how I can really accomplish something valuable and important. I started to remember to think of serving others as part of my list creation as well. Consequently, I added something to my list today that I feel will really be a solid contribution to a better day.

Now I am going go forth and get this list done!
