Day 181 – Habits are Boring

Tomorrow marks the 1/2 point for my 365 commitment. The first habit of many that I am trying to develop. I have had many struggles on the way to habit forming. The latest one is boredom.

I don’t mean kid stuck at home during summer type boredom. I am referring to the routine that I follow and how I don’t even notice anymore. I go though my basic commitment as if on autopilot and the days are just peeling away.

The only thing that reminds me is that extra pushup I am going to do this morning! However, even that routing has become almost automatic. I just do it now, I don’t even think about procrastinating.

But all the right is gone, and therefore the excitement. Now I am realizing that habits can fall victim to this duldrum. I must engage with more intensity. I will add another habit tomorrow and I will start with a clear set of goals, but in am still not sure of what that will be yet.
