Principle of Progression

This is a real estate concept. When more valuable houses are built in an area, it raises the value of the nearby homes. Thus the pricing of the homes progresses. The opposite of this would be regression. Larger and more expensive homes would lose value if cheaper less expensive homes were built next to them. I being this up, because I wonder sometimes if the principle of progression is at play in our own lives, or perhaps regression?

Do you surround yourself with people that cause your value to raise or lower? That is an interesting question. If you find yourself struggling to keep up with the people around you is that a good thing or a bad thing? I think it is good, because of the principle of progression. By putting yourself in a social situation with people smarter or more capable than you, you will be the very nature of association increase your own value.

The reverse is true as well. If you surround yourself with people that are not as smart or capable of you, then you might find yourself in a regressive situation.

Interesting thought!
