My daughter came home today from the dentist – braces off! She is all smiles and feeling good. No more braces! I remember what a great feeling that was. I will chalk that up as one of the great moments. What are your great moments?
Come to think of it, do you even have a list of great moments? Not just a quick dive into the few you can remember, but an actual list that you maintain? A list of the great moments in your life? If there was anything that future generations would want to read, or that you yourself would want to keep and review from time to time would be this list. This is actually the “treasure that you lay up in heaven.” The great moments of life.
I actually have several and this is probably the list that keeps me going, helps me feel better than anything else. Yesterday was my 25th wedding anniversary. I remember seeing my wife turn the corner and start to walk down the isle in her wedding dress. That is a great moment for me, and one of the ones at the top. I remember the moment well, because I recall it and think about it from time to time. It really means something. 31 years ago today, I first kissed my wife. Yup! I was too nervous to try to sneak a smooch on valentine’s day – but I got up the nerve the next day. Story of my life, one day behind.
I have many more. I have a place where I keep them listed and try to remember them frequently. I am starting to build quite the list. Moments that will always remain with me as significant, and special, and represent important aspects of my life’s journey. Anyway, a good idea that I thought I would pass along. A diary of the great moments, a good habit to keep.
