If you figure out how to maintain the perfect day of balance between physical, spiritual, emotional, financial health and also maintain your family life then please email me your secret. Better yet, if you find out the person that said that you must find balance in your life…tell me who they are. I might hunt them down and have a fun little chat!

I am not sure a balanced life every day is even remotely possible. The 365 commitment is helping me to realize that a balanced week or perhaps a balanced month is much more realistic. There are days when your commitment has to be work focused, hopefully you can have some family focused days, and some days focused on your primary goals. Occasionally you can have days focused on many things. So balance is a myth I think. Focus at appropriate times seems more realistic and obtainable.

I started this commitment with thinking that I had to put something down everyday for every thing important in my life. Now I may just have a simple but effective task that says something like, “Spend a few moments thinking about how to plan a cool weekend for the kids.” or “take a pause today and walk around the block and think about how I can help a particular person.”

Now go and enjoy some imbalance.
