Blog 148 – You Know What To Do

“Stick with the plan.  Re-commit everyday.  You know what to do, do it.  Practice good habits.”

These are the thoughts that emerge when I ask myself  “What do I need to do today, what I need to hear that will encourage me?.”   I think these thoughts, these answers, are correct.  I know what to do.   But the difficulty is in the doing not the knowing.

So, how can I ensure that I take my own advice?  How can I put what I know is right and good into action?

The answers come quickly to mind –  write down action items that will lead to the outcome I have envisioned, and prioritize them.  Then I need to pray about them seeking God’s blessing,  and re-enforcing my aim and commitment to make things better, to the best of my ability today.

Next, simply focus on completing each task, one at a time as diligently as possible.  Regardless of how I feel otherwise, immerse myself in each task and drive toward that moment when I check it off my list.  Enjoy checking that task off the list!  Then continue onto the next item.  Do this all day long.  Pay attention and focus.  Then, tonight before I sleep, look back at the day and evaluate my progress, check-in with myself and with God.  Do a + Delta, thinking about what went right and what went wrong and how tomorrow I might do better.

That’s it.  That The 365 Method in a nutshell, and it is what I am going to do!  So here goes . . .
