‘If you seek tranquility, do less.’ Or (more accurately) do what’s essential—what the logos of a social being requires, and in the requisite way. Which brings a double satisfaction: to do less, better. Because most of what we say and do is not essential. If you can eliminate it, you’ll have more time, and more tranquility. Ask yourself at every moment, ‘Is this necessary?’” — Marcus Aurelius
Pondering ancient words again today. This statement just seems like such incredible wisdom. The kind of wisdom that I will smile and and then never do. This is hilarious really. I get so freaking stressed out, worried, anxious and all of that. Then I wonder why? Then I look at my to do list for the day. I need to be brave, bold, courageous and cut stuff out! Take a sword to my ambition! See I want to do BETTER. The only way that happens is by doing LESS. Got that? No, I do not. I keep piling it on, as if that will help things. I have to get it through my thick skull. Less is better. Less is better. Less makes better.
