Day 143 – Not Done Yet

An old man, burdened by years and the toll of hard labor, queries the void,

“What has all this been for?”

A young woman, embarking on her college journey, pleads with the unseen,

“Why must this path be so hard?”

A middle-aged businessman, facing yet another job interview, questions his worth,

“Why must I endure this again?”

A preteen girl, stung by the ridicule of those she once called friends, whispers to the shadows,”

Why can’t I find true companionship?”

A convicted man, facing the reality of more time behind bars, looks pleadingly at the bailiff,

“Can’t I catch a break?”

A lone woman, surrounded by the same four walls, asks the faces on her TV,

“Will love ever find me again?”

A child, seated on the curb, gazes into his dog’s eyes and yearns,

“Why can’t my life hold more?”

As twilight settles or dawn breaks, an answer comes,

From a source seldom sought and least expected,

Whispering to each heart with a promise,

“I am not done with you yet.”
